Syzygium sp Sulawesi

Syzygium sp. ‘Sulawesi’ is a rare, recently discovered tropical tree from the Myrtaceae family. Native to the rainforests of Sulawesi, Indonesia, it is highly sought after by collectors for its dramatic, oversized foliage that resembles a tropical aroid more than a typical myrtle.

The plant is best known for its massive, elongated leaves that can grow between 50 to 70 cm long. The leaves are leathery, glossy, and feature prominent ribbed veins, giving them a textured appearance similar to Anthurium veitchii. In its native habitat, it can reach up to 15 meters, though understory specimens often remain smaller (around 3 meters). It is easily managed as a houseplant.
